Alyn & Deeside Constituency Party

An introduction:  The Alyn & Deeside Parliamentary Constituency forms the south eastern half of the County of Flintshire in North Wales. It comprises of the main towns of Connah's Quay, Shotton, Queensferry, and Buckley, together with a number of smaller towns and villages.

Population of Alyn & Deeside is approximately 76,440

Electorate 58,091

The economy of Alyn & Deeside is mainly industrial with a number of major companies based in the area, but parts of the constituency are rural in nature with agricultural enterprises. There are strong economic and cultural links with the adjoining Delyn Constituency, which forms the other half of Flintshire.

Parliamentary & Assembly representatives:

The local Member of Parliament is presently Mark Tami M.P. [Labour].

The local constituency Welsh Assembly Member is Carl Sargent A.M. [Labour],

The Liberal Democrat Welsh Assembly Member representing Alyn & Deeside and the rest of North Wales is Eleanor Burnham A.M.

Local Government:  The Flintshire County Council has 70 members and is controlled by a coalition of Lib Dems, Independents and Conservatives. Alyn and Deeside Liberal Democrats are represented on the North Wales Liberal Democrat Liaison Group.
