Want to Help (or perhaps Join) the Liberal Democrats?? Why get involved? A Party with a future! - There has been a significant growth in the Flintshire Liberal Democrat vote in recent years.  In the recent County Council elections 7 Liberal Democrat Councillors were elected serve on the Flintshire County Council, with a further 16 Liberal Democrat Councillors serving on 9 of the local community and town councils. At Westminster there are more Liberal Democrat M.P.s than for almost 80 years ~ and in 2003, our newest M.P. Sandra Gidley won the once "safe Labour seat" of Brent East, with a staggering 13% swing to the Liberal Democrats.  Why should I help or join ? - The Liberal Democrats have the best policies for Wales and the U.K. - and it’s not just us that says so.  Most of the serious political commentators recognise the thought that goes into our policy making, and many of our best ideas are frequently “borrowed” by the other parties.  We believe in our policies - we don’t “borrow other parties' clothes” and pretend they fit! How much does it cost to join ? - There is no fixed amount but a minimum charge of £9 is necessary to cover the administration costs of the Welsh Liberal Democrats.  There is no upper limit - it’s your choice.  Payments can be made by Direct Debit to spread the cost. At the minimum level this would be as little as 60 pence {approx.} per month or 15 pence per week Students and Young Persons under 30 years of age can join at a special low rate (£3) as members of Liberal Democrat Youth and Students (L.D.Y.S.) Do I have to do anything ? - You can do as little or as much as you choose, and we value all our members. Can I help without joining ? - Yes! ~ many of our supporters may not wish to formally join the Liberal Democrats, but can provide help in all sorts of ways. We can always use help with leaflet delivery, fundraising, etc.  You can say what you want to do and how much you want to do - with NO pressure!
